“The Future’s bright, the Future’s Orange” the slogan was created for Orange Personal Communications Services Ltd, formed in 1994, a true guru of “worth every penny” mobile phones and now mobile broadband deals. A square logo in use was adapted to eliminate any chance of consumers mistaking it for a fruit rather than the colour itself. It also needed to be a strong name in the business Colosseum like Nike and Microsoft. Establishing it as the colour Orange was the primary concern, which is seen as a strong Feng Shui colour. The Orange network was launched on 28th April 1994.
Orange is currently the largest ISP in Europe encompassing France, UK, Equatorial Guinea, Spain, Senegal, Slovakia and Switzerland with over ten million subscribers. Its operations were originally known as Wanadoo.
On 18th July 2000 the name Wanadoo first appeared on the stock market. In the same year it expanded operations by acquiring Freeserve, a major British ISP. France Telecom, the parent company finally decided to simplify the branding hence merged the companies and the name Wanadoo gave way to Orange on 1st June 2006. One brand providing both mobile telecommunications and internet services.
Blah blah blah blah….. Come to the point for heaven’s sake!
Is it cheap mobile broadband? Is it reliable? Is it fast? Is it easy to use?
Well… dear BroadbandSelecta visitor, allow me to enlighten you with few facts around the block. At present, consumers are enjoying up to 3.6Mbps of speed but “rumor has it” Orange will be dishing out up to 7.2Mbps in 2009 across United Kingdom. In this dwelling of 3 Mobile, O2, Virgin, Vodafone etc you ought to side with Orange on this one; a customer enjoys two week money back guarantee. Now who does that these days? They are confident hence willing to give you two week peace of mind. They are also the largest integrated 2G/3G network in the country. Another plus is the ease of setup (automated) and its compatibility with PC, Laptop or even Mac users.
Orange offers special deals to students with limited budget and extends its mobile broadband service on light, medium and heavy user bases. On offer is a wide range of services, from instant pay as you go to monthly contracts. You may also wish to take advantage of Orange’s free laptop offers.
Last but not the least …I can feel you are smiling at this point, you better be because with Orange you get two for one cinema tickets and that is not a one off offer, not even once a month but every Wednesday !!!!
