o2-mobile-broadbandThe company was formed in 1985 and started trading under the name “Cellnet”, Telecom Securicor Cellular Radio Limited was a joint venture between BT Group (British Telecommunications) and Securicor. In 1993 Cellnet introduced GSM service in UK and its analogue eTACS service were discontinued in 2000 as part of changes to the regulation of spectrum in the UK. BT bought the remaining shares from Securicor in 1999, renaming the company BT Cellnet forming part of BT Wireless.
After demerger from BT in 2001, BT Cellnet became O2 UK, a subsidiary of mmO2 plc. This subsidiary of Telefónica Europe is currently named Telefónica O2 UK. Out of all the major UK network operators, Telefónica O2 UK has the largest number of subscribers.

O2 UK made their first move into the broadband market with the purchase of a small UK based firm named ‘Be’. In October 2007 O2 launched their own broadband service, which offers discounts for O2 mobile phone customers. The O2 Broadband service uses the Be network.

Right! What we have here is a well established, well reputed a button in the cap of reliability mobile service provider. Now are they following into the footsteps of Orange, 3 Network, T-mobile etc by offering something special to potential customers to help tip the needle in their direction?
For starters they are not forcing you in to entering any contract (works for me). Signing a contract only to find out the network signals are nowhere near strong, not only annoys the customers but it also puts extra strain on service

provider (customer complaints, cancelations, paper work, reputation etc. etc.).
To avoid all the hassle potential customers can check signal strength in their vicinity through O2’s network coverage checker. O2 Mobile Broadband gives you access to their data network sometimes referred to as GPRS (the slowest), 3G, HSDPA (the fastest on the O2 network), but also includes unlimited access to Wi-Fi through their partner, The Cloud so customers can browse the web in places like McDonalds, major airports and train stations - there are literally thousands of places surfers can get Wi-Fi access. Sometimes known as “hotspots”, you can see where these are by using the Wi-Fi hotspot locator.

t-mobile-broadband2Did you know Lance Massey composed the T-Mobile ringtone? Did you know “T” is for “Telekom”?
A mobile network operator who initially started their operations as MERCURY ONE 2 ONE, followed by ONE 2 ONE (famous for cheap deals/packages) which in its twilight was a joint venture of Cable & Wireless and Mediaone Group (American cable service provider). Their launch of the GSM 1800 network in September 1993 made them pioneers of the industry.

T-Mobile, headquartered in Bonn, Germany, forms part of mobile phone corporate subsidiaries, under the flagship of Deutsche Telekom which belongs to FreeMove business alliance. Gone are the days, when T-Mobile’s potential ability to threaten rival operators’ market share used to be questioned repeatedly. Banking on 19.2 million subscribers in Britain alone, T-Mobile has moved ahead of Orange UK and is competing at third spot right behind O2 and Vodafone (late 2005 parent company Deutsche Telekom made a failed attempt of acquiring rivals O2).

T-Mobile has its operations in eleven European countries and a global subscribers list stretching to 128.3 million mark, which makes the seventh largest mobile phone service provider of the world. In terms of multinationals, T-mobile is only succeeded by United Kingdom’s Vodafone and Spain’sTelefónica. They are worth 32.1 million customers in U.S. market which makes them the fourth largest mobile network. In their home ground of Germany they are the largest operators with approximately 36 million subscribers.

Why T-Mobile Broadband?

T-Mobile broadband is available for as little as £2 per day, now that is one cheap mobile broadband. Yes! They serve in same identical way as their cheap mobile phone deals. With their famous “pay as you go” mobile broadband deal available for light users. That does not constitute in any way that T-Mobile broadband is not suitable for heavy users or compromises on service. Monthly price plans are equally competitive and above all reliable. What else makes it different or rather appealing?
Please do not mention “free laptops”!!!!
How about fast mobile broadband? Would it matter if I tell you it is rated as the best value for money mobile broadband network operator by YouGov independent “Dongle Tracker” survey? In August 2008 they won the BEST NETWORK AWARD from The Mobile Data Association. They have constantly been voted the fastest Mobile Broadband Network by PC Pro.
The above shows a lot of commitment by the operator. In my opinion, you cannot just buy trust from score of subscribers. Bottom line from BroadbandSelecta …..it’s worth your hard earned money!

orange-mobile-broadband-deals1“The Future’s bright, the Future’s Orange” the slogan was created for Orange Personal Communications Services Ltd, formed in 1994, a true guru of “worth every penny” mobile phones and now mobile broadband deals. A square logo in use was adapted to eliminate any chance of consumers mistaking it for a fruit rather than the colour itself. It also needed to be a strong name in the business Colosseum like Nike and Microsoft. Establishing it as the colour Orange was the primary concern, which is seen as a strong Feng Shui colour. The Orange network was launched on 28th April 1994.

Orange is currently the largest ISP in Europe encompassing France, UK, Equatorial Guinea, Spain, Senegal, Slovakia and Switzerland with over ten million subscribers. Its operations were originally known as Wanadoo.

On 18th July 2000 the name Wanadoo first appeared on the stock market. In the same year it expanded operations by acquiring Freeserve, a major British ISP. France Telecom, the parent company finally decided to simplify the branding hence merged the companies and the name Wanadoo gave way to Orange on 1st June 2006. One brand providing both mobile telecommunications and internet services.

Blah blah blah blah….. Come to the point for heaven’s sake!

Is it cheap mobile broadband? Is it reliable? Is it fast? Is it easy to use?

Well… dear BroadbandSelecta visitor, allow me to enlighten you with few facts around the block. At present, consumers are enjoying up to 3.6Mbps of speed but “rumor has it” Orange will be dishing out up to 7.2Mbps in 2009 across United Kingdom. In this dwelling of 3 Mobile, O2, Virgin, Vodafone etc you ought to side with Orange on this one; a customer enjoys two week money back guarantee. Now who does that these days? They are confident hence willing to give you two week peace of mind. They are also the largest integrated 2G/3G network in the country. Another plus is the ease of setup (automated) and its compatibility with PC, Laptop or even Mac users.

Orange offers special deals to students with limited budget and extends its mobile broadband service on light, medium and heavy user bases. On offer is a wide range of services, from instant pay as you go to monthly contracts. You may also wish to take advantage of Orange’s free laptop offers.

Last but not the least …I can feel you are smiling at this point, you better be because with Orange you get two for one cinema tickets and that is not a one off offer, not even once a month but every Wednesday !!!!

3 Mobile Broadband

3 Mobile - Brief History

3 Mobile Broadband Deals3 Mobile requires no introduction in the field of affordable and value for money mobile phone deals and packages. In early days 3 Mobile started capitalizing on their experience across the globe, the provider was initially introduced to the UK market as Hutchison 3G in 2000. The new comer quickly settled in with ever growing demands of highly competitive mobile arena by offering however cheap but reliable deals for consumers.

3 Mobile Today

In recent years, mobile services have taken a giant leap from voice calling to video calling and now wireless broadband services. As one would appreciate the fact that it is not all that easy to compete against giants such as Orange, T-mobile, O2 and not to mention Vodafone. 3 Mobile has come up with some of the best affordable deals for its UK consumers. I for one certainly acknowledged the fact that 3 mobile delivered when they promised 98% of coverage for residents of Britain by the first quarter of 2009.

Another remarkable step by 3 Mobile is the promise of service, which means? Well to begin with, no matter how fast broadband package you opt for, it’s highly unlikely that you receive the exact speed. There are a number of factors which affect on your service, for instance trees or buildings which may lie between you and the mast, hence producing some interference. 3 Mobile has taken all these issues into consideration and promise a speed of up to 2.8 Mbps even though their network is capable of providing 3.6 Mbps.

What’s that jargon? I hear you say…..

In simple terms, with 3 Mobile broadband majority of customers can download a 4 minute track in 30 seconds or under… now how about that?

Like Orange, T-mobile, O2, Vodfone and other wireless broadband providers 3 Mobile caters for populous with different needs ranging from cheap to unlimited usage, contract or pay as you go, students to city professionals. To sum it up, you now have offers which entitle you to a free laptop with one of the monthly plans….icing or maybe cherry on the top?

At BroadbandSelecta we try our hardest to provide our visitors with nothing but the best of the best!
